As promised...the goth girls...and a give-a-way!
In my last post, I mentioned my passion for all things autumn. Thanksgiving and halloween, being way up there as my favorite days of the year. When I had my store, one of the artists made a group of doll sculptures for me. I had purchased one for my daughter, and so liked it, that I asked the artist to make some for the store. I do not remember the name of the artist, however, she signed the bottom of each Haunted Holidays and if you are out there and you recognize your work, please email me so that I can give proper credit for these little works of art. As it happened, they did not sell. Now, I know that some of you out there understand this situation, when something comes into the store, and you are completely ambivalent about it selling. I was not unhappy that the girls did not sell. They are now a permanent part of the art in our house, and my kids are rather fond of these girls anyway.
Let me start by introducing you to the first three girls in the lineup. I have not as yet named them, but I do feel that each one has a distinct personality. The young lady on the right is stubborn, and a bit of a trouble maker. The young lady in the middle is the nicest of the group, and the girl on the left is a follower.
The girl with the skeleton purse is the smartest. She always looks smart and stays cool. (they are posing in front of a photo that I snapped today at the garden.)
The girl in the black tu-tu is always looking for attention. Some of the other girls think that she is brilliant and a few think that she is a little full of herself.
The girl with the long legs is the tallest, and should be a model, but she doesn't know how pretty she is, and the two girls standing in front
of what is my favorite bag are bff's. The bag by the way was made by another very talented artist, Suzy of Georgia Peachez. It was one of the items that she brought into the store that had my name written all over it.
The silly girl with the bunny ears was made by a different artist, but feels more comfortable hanging out with these girls. She is the misfit that the girls have adopted as one of their own.
The littlest is also the cutest, and these two girls seem to have a problem getting along. A bit of a personality conflict.
Last, there is the line-up of all of the girls. I would like very much to name these ladies and would love to have your input. There may actually be a story to come out of this. Please send me your thoughts(comments) on the girls..help to give them real names and perhaps what you think might be on their minds. For a little added encouragment, I will randomly choose someone who left a comment and send out four vintage issues of Mary Englebrites Home Companion Magazine including an October/ November issue from 2004 that has, what else, stuff Halloween.
I will also include some other suprise Halloween goodies!! A name will be chosen a week from today, so that will be next Sunday night. Have fun and I hope that you enjoyed meeting the girls.

Okay, I am drawing a blank on the names at the moment but I had to say how cute these gals are and I know they would not appreciate being called cute, but they are. I love their individual personalities and this would have been something I too secretly wanted to keep rather than sell.
Wait, something is coming to me - Pricilla, is there a Pricilla in that bunch?

I think mine is named Cecilia. Because it's a pretty name but you've got to know how to wear it.

I remember these dolls very well! What a serendiptious occurance that they didn't sell in the store and came home to roost with you!
I think I still have a piece of that fabric somewhere. I should craft another purse for the holidays! xo, suzy

I love your Goth girls, they each have their own personalities, don't they?
I think they liked staying with you and that's why they stuck their tongues out at all the customers that wanted to buy them.
They are naughty but nice.

Love those dolls, they are so unique! Here's a few names for you to ponder...
Agatha for the trouble-maker
Naomi for the nice one
Twyla for the one in the tutu (she's my favorite and I imagine she just loves to twirl and twirl in her tutu)
Livie for the little one
Hmmm...that's about all I can come up with. Fun post!

I'm not sure about personalities, but here's a go (from left to right):
Jinx: Her tutu is the perfect eye catcher and distracts people, so she can works her charms. Plus, spinning is so much fun!
Dorie: She needs acceptance, but will find her inner compass soon.
Millicent: A sweetheart, but never underestimate her, she's no doormat.
Twinkle: She is the cutest after all.
Helena: It's not that she means to be so stubborn, but there's a proper procedure for everything after all and she finds time-wasters soooo exasperating. Plus, everyone around there always interrupts!
Maribeth: A tactful diplomat. Now, girls, it's important to be fair.
Elsbethe: It's OK that she doesn't see her beauty yet, she loves surprises. The best one will be when she sees a beautiful girl in the mirror who moves precisely the way she does. In the meantime, there's her journal to work on.
Last, but not least Cheryl had it right with Priscilla...I think she's the bunny eared one. It's fun just to be part of the group even if she doesn't want to wear the uniform.
What a fun post...maybe we all see in the goth girls things we see in ourselves, so the names will vary depending on who's looking at them.

I absolutely love your goth girls! How clever the artist and I'll bet she would be thrilled to know that we are all oogling over her creations. How lucky you are to have them...though I must admit I would have bought them in a heartbeat if I'd seen them :) Okay, from left to right here's my go at it:
Penelope Pumpkinn (the follower)
Serina Skeletton (the nice one)
Bathilda aka "Bat" Blakcat (the stubborn one)
Galina Goodgohst (the smart one with the cute ghost purse)
Oh what a neat post! That was so much fun! These are perfect inspirations for a story!
