Sometimes, fitting something new into a daily routine can be a little daunting. This time last year, I hadn't even read a blog, never mind written one of my own. The tricky part is fitting this in to an already hectic schedule, doing it justice, and having time to read and appreciate your blogs as well. More hours in the day would be good, if only I had the energy to use them. Now that I have carved out a good length of time to get back to having fun around here, I must first and foremost, thank Debra Schoch at Hop, hop jingle boo. I won a give away on her blog a short while back, and it arrived last week. If you have never visited her blog, I urge you to do so. She is one of the most creative women on this planet...and I mean that sincerely. Second, if she ever has another give away, I urge you to enter. If you are lucky enough to win something from her, then you are lucky enough. Here is what came out of the box...
There is vintage wall paper, vintage wrapping paper, vintage ephemera in the shape of a very vintage but groovy family picture, pages from an old dictionary, a postcard, a little white mannequin, a pair of the best baby mini moccassins that I have ever seen, and oh so much more.
This beautiful butterfly winged angel will sit on my desk until Christmas, and then she will take center stage atop one of my many trees. There is a piece from a very old quilt that will have to find its way into a special project, and there are bits of lace and jewelry, and little tags and .....well, you get the idea....I could go on and on. There is so much inspiration in this box, that I will be using her bits and pieces for a long time to come. Yes I am very, very lucky.
One of the other things that has been keeping me busy is the spring cleaning. We have finally cleared a path to the back of the garage, and in doing so, I have managed to pull out another group of signs. I will list these with their prices. If you have any interest in buying one, please send an email (you can find my email link in the top left hand corner of this blog). I will need your address to determine the cost of shipping.
First, I have this Ice Pops sign in pastel colors. It measures 18x6 and is painted on wood about an inch thick. It is $12.00 plus shipping.
Next, I have a cotton candy sign in the most wonderful shade of lilac. It measures about 4x16 and is $10.00 plus shipping.
The next sign is a large wood board at 12x24. It is one of my favorites, but I already have three of her signs hanging in my house....it is in French and reads L'auberge des fleurs, and has the most beautiful pansies and a fleur de lis. It is $30.00 plus shipping. Here is a closeup of this sign... It really is very pretty.
Next sign is this large Antiques sign, decorated with pink roses and little violets. If you click on the pictures, you can enlarge them to see the detail better. The antiques sign is $18.00 plus shipping. The next sign is the same size as the previous one, and is just adorable for an outdoor garden. It is Beachfront blossoms and is also $18.00 plus shipping. It would look adorable perched in a garden or on a garden gate.
The last two sign are both cafe signs. The Old Salt Cafe is a large 18x6 in nautical blues. It is $14.00 plus shipping, and the other, Tradewinds Cafe, is about 5x16 and is $12.00 plus shipping.
The last picture that I will show you today is from our back porch. Most of the houses in our area had a screened in back porch, and most of the home owners have converted them into sun rooms or dens. Call me sentimental, but I think that this is one of the most romantic rooms in the house! Of course, we can only use it April through October, but we have had some warm Novembers too. It is where you will find me on a rainy summers day, or a warm night. It is where I love to sip a cup of tea or a glass of wine, where I watch the bunny rabbits and at dusk, the bats swooping over the yard, and it is where I love to entertain company the most. I wish that you could all join me here sometime. We could stop being so crazy busy for a little while and just sit and chat :)
