In my previous post, I wrote about the two town wide yard sales today. There were over 300 homes listed with sales. We managed to get to more than 100. We actually lost count at around 78, but continued on for another 2 hours. We started out at 7:45 this morning, some homes were ready, but most were just starting to put their stuff out. EVERYONE, was very nice..there wasn't a cranky soul out there :) This is the haul...seven hours of yard sales, and some amazing bargains! The books,
were free...The vintage ornaments,
and milk glass bowl were a steal. The other vintage pieces, a pink depression glass cake plate and a hand painted Bavarian sweets dish on pedestal were very fortuitous finds. There was one house that looked like there wouldn't be much, and we did waver and finally decided to walk up to find the garage full of vintage 50's stuff.I found these adorable cats and a goose
(are you looking Beth? They are being sent to you!) Then I found this carnival glass bowl,
and behind them are two little boxes of more
vintage ornies. The giraffe was found across the street, and since FAO Schwartz is no longer in business, I thought I would grab him too. Next was a brand new never opened Robert Sabuda pop up book about dinosaurs and a brand new set of crafting scissors. The kind that you use for scrapbooking...still in a box.One of the last stops, brought me to a decorators sale
, and I found these fabrics and this
picture, a glass lamp that I can take the seashells out of and replace them with my collection of seaglass and a bag full of shells and seaglass that I can add to the collection...I'm pretty sure that you can never have too much seaglass. We also bought a brand new never used mini crockpot for the daughter who is away at college. We figured she could use it to warm soup and other goodies when she is hungry. Oh, and lets not forget that 2 yards of vintage fabric with the pretty roses on it, and the free (yup free), perfect file cabinet and water sprinkler. All told, we spent 38.00 and except for my sore feet, I have nothing to complain about. It was a lovely day, lovely weather, and a great opportunity to talk with lovely people.
OMG!!!~~~OK I am totally jealous of your HAUL! But you;re really sending the kitties to ME???? I adore you so much, you know that don't you? I am so glad you had a wonderful day at the BIG ONE!~~~XXOO, Beth

That looks like a ton of fun!
You did so well!
I don't know if I could have limited myself to less than $40 at that many sales.

I think I would be in a swoon at the thought of a city wide garage sale! My only comparison is a thrift store yard sale that filled an entire parking lot - $7 a box or bag no matter what you put in it. $38 for an entire day of thrifting is amazing. And yes, you can never have too much sea glass. FAO Schwartz is out of business!?

WOW! What a fun day...I can't get over the ornaments. I love vintage ornaments. I've never ever been on an all day, 100's of places thrifting spree!

I can't believe you hit 100 sales. You must have been exhausted, but happy by the end of it. And to think that you only spent $38. That's amazing. Now that's what I call a great Saturday!
