It is so much fun to see everyone dress up their homes for the holidays, and even more fun when the shops in town get in on the action. Last weekend, my friend Jenny and I went on a gingerbread walk through town. It was a perfect way to start feeling festive.
One of our first stops was to see the gingerbread house at Tiffany's.
Do you see the detail on this house? The Tiffany blue Santa in the chimney with the jewelry spilling out of his sack. Remember to click on the pictures to enlarge them. From there we walked over to Ten Thousand Villages,
where we found this extraordinary gingerbread village.
Again, the detail is just amazing and we were lucky enough to meet the artist and baker. She happens to work at the store and was there when we walked in! We then crossed the street to enter Rickeys candy shop to see their gingerbread house bedecked in...what else..candy!!
There was this house with the shoe on top as this is a shoe store.
This cute little house was in a store window...I liked all of the snow on it.
This magnificent gingerbread house is actually an historic hotel in town. The Molly Pitcher Hotel is right on the banks of the Navesink River and has the most beautiful views.
This is the rear view of the gingerbread hotel. Just a fantastic rendition!
Of course, I saved the best for last....a pink gingerbread house...how cool is that??
This is a gingerbread train station in Red Bank New Jersey...and the detail is just phenomenal. I love it!!!
This post is being linked to Beverly's How Sweet the Sound for Pink Saturday. She asked that we show a favorite holiday decoration, and this would have to fill the bill... the pink wreath made from vintage pink shiny brites. Love it so much that I have it hanging in my daughters room when the holiday is over. Please go and see the other pink Saturday posts.
♥, Susan
Hi Susan..I didn't know we were practically neighbors until today..I am in Ocean Township NJ. I loved the Gingerbread houses & I am disappointed that I missed them in Red Bank!
Thank you for sharing all those great pictures!
Have a wonderful day..Happy pinks..xo Tami

I have never attempted a gingerbread house, probably don't have the patience necessary. But these are works of art. I am more a "red" person than a "pink", but I too absolutely adore that wreath of yours!

How fun! I love that Tiffany blue Santa! I've been planning to make a gingerbread house this year and haven't done it yet!
Your pink wreath is beautiful! I'd keep it out all year too!

We don't need elaborate decorations or a big tree or numerous gifts under a tree. All any of us needs is to carry the spirit of Christmas in our hearts and to share it all year long with everyone we meet.
Thank you so much for sharing your blog with me today. Yes, I'm crazy about ♥PINK♥ but I'm also devoted to visiting some of the nicest blogs in cyberspace.
Hoping your weekend is filled with peace.

Those are very cool and quite inspiring for the gingerbead kit I just bought. What's funny is that I might be staying at the Molly Pitcher when I go to Art Opera in the spring!

Great Ginger Bread Houses, and what a fun idea to have Ginger Bread Home Tour! The Pink one was my FAV. Thanks for stopping by and having a chocolate covered cherry and seeing my Santa and Mrs. Claus collection. Merry Christmas!

So pretty! I've finally decided that even though I was impressed by the Tiffany's attention to detail with the "jewels" I really love the pink train station best.
I've been reading your posts from the last week....I am sorry about your friend Mary. She was a talented artist, and I am sure you miss her friendship.
Your house is looking wonderful!
Have you found those Spode goblets? I never did get to you-know-where to check out the merchandise. Maybe this week.
Have a good one!

Wonderful gingerbread houses!! When my daughter was little, and we lived in California, we would make one every year and donate it to a local shelter.
Thanks for the mention in the previous post too - haven't seen one of those signs in years, lol. I'm glad you're still enjoying it. :)
Wishing you and your family a very happy holiday season!

Hi Susan
I am back after a few weeks of computer problems ...now I have a brand new HP computer to re-connect. I've missed everyone so much! :-)
I love gingerbread and these houses are all adorable! I love all the detail and fun decorations. The pink house is incredible.
There is a gingerbread exhibit going on at the Parker Meridian Hotel in Manhattan that I am hoping to see next week, if I can catch up with all I have to do.
Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season! Did you enjoy some potato latkes? They are one of my favorite treats!
Hugs, Pat
