This is one of those Mondays when my act will not jell...I am a bit of all over the place today...too many things to do and no plan of action. That said, I wanted to do my part for Susan's link up at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday . Last week, we finally bought a new sofa for our living room. This is a picture of the old sofa at Christmas time. It served us for many years with its big comfy pillows and neutral "mud" color. It lived through babies and teenagers, parties galore, and it held up well through all of that, but it was time to say goodbye. Over the years, the decor in the living room went from traditional, to a more eclectic modern mix. We have kept many of the vintage and traditional pieces of furniture, however, I like this look better. The new black leather sofa is also big, comfortable, and cushy, and as you can see matches the coffee table. It is more updated and still works well with the rest of the furniture...best of all, the cat is not so interested in it. The old sofa was ripped in many places by our over zealous cat and had stains that really showed its age. I think it made quite the metamorphosis in the living room.
Now for Blue Monday, and
the link for Smiling Sally's blog. Here are my blue surprises. A bowl of Cheerio's with blueberries ...not what you might expect around here in the middle of the winter. A yellow ware bowl full of blue Emu eggs, a jar full of jelly beans, with some of the blues pulled out, and a heart shaped blue glass bowl because all things heart must be shown this week. This could be for all of the blue Valentines.
Hoping to be a little more together very soon, and wishing you all the best Monday has to offer.
♥, Susan
Oh Susan, I wonder what those Emu eggs taste like? Happy Blue Monday.

Someday I would love to have a leather set in a rich brown. I would never have said that before my brother has a set that we all enjoy when we visit. I had always thought of leather as cold and hard...oh no....it is very comfy.
Love your new sofa!
Oh, and what a fun assortment of blues. The jelly beans were great.

Susan you new couch looks very comfortable. I am also due for a new one. My cat has developed a liking to scratch my dining room carpet... it is not a pretty sight and everyhting I do will not deter him.
I could not keep those jelly beans in my hosue as I'd nibble on them all day..lol
I like your seaglass! Did you find that on local beaches? I have an amazing collection from the beaches of Southern Italy.

The sofa is the busiest piece of furniture in the house. Yours lasted a long time! Black leather is a great neutral choice and should look good for years!

Thanks Merrie, I went over to your website...it is really interesting. Your hammered aluminum collection was also very nice. If you read my blog, you will know that I have been collecting for a very long time now, and have had the opportunity to meet some of the original forge artisans and owners. The history of this uniquely American craft is very interesting.

Hi Susan! My laptop has been out for 3 weeks..almost..and boy have I missed it. Look at all you've been up to. The party looked like fun....the Fantasy Table was beautiful...that new couch looks soooo comfy! You all have had way more snow than us, but we had had about a foot since yesterday. Hope Valentines flower deliveries go smooth...this ice and snow makes it hard. Well, I guess I'll see ya in a little while over at Susan's Thursday Tablescapes.
