FLAMINGO WAR'S

                 Once again, pink Saturday has arrived...and I am only slightly prepared. The post was in my head, but not in the computer....the dog ate my homework? Silly...we don't even have a dog to blame. 

                 First, I would like to feature a regular Pink Saturday blog called Suzie Button Creations...her post for this week has pictures of real pink flamingos...I just couldn't resist...please go and see them, her pictures are great.
                 A while back, our little town had growing  pains. Some very caring people developed an historical society to keep the charm of the older homes in check. In the process, they were impeding some others plans to renovate...it got a little ugly for a while and  in protest, people started putting plastic pink flamingos on their front lawns...lots of them. We live at the end of a cul-de-sac on the edge of town, so we were completely unaffected...no one comes down our street. I did however get such a kick out of seeing all of the pink flamingos...they made me laugh. In the end, the issue was resolved and the flamingos  are gone, but to this day I can't help but giggle every time I see a pink flamingo.

That is funny! I have a friend that is in a group that started the whole flamingo thing too but as a joke. When you least expect it you come home to a yard full of flamingos...then that person will surprise another friend. They call it being "flammed."

Pink flamingos are reminders of a good day. Their feathers are so cute like they have "natural skin care" veterinarians! haha. this is funny.

Those little plastic pink flamingos bring back happy memories to me. My grandmother had some in front of her house, and she DID live on a busy street! I would have some in my country front yard today if only my husband would let me.

There's a church youth group here in my town that raises money each spring to go on a mission trip and a flock of flamingos arrive on your lawn and stay until you make a donation to make them fly away... the kids always get enough money for the mission trip. Seems like 200+ plastic pink flamingos on their lawns cause people to give! :)
