There is a little corner in our dining room that I recently redecorated. It has been the focus of a vintage milk glass collection displayed on a green shelving unit, and years prior, housed a corner cabinet filled with vintage wedding ring china. I don't know what it is about this one specific spot, it just seems to be the transient section of our house. At the moment, there is a Regency style steel table taking up space, displaying a huge, vintage hammered aluminum punch bowl made by Wendell August Forge, along with a tray by the same maker and a very artsy covered dish. That punch bowl is one of the coolest pieces in my aluminum collection...so big that you could bathe a baby in it...yet very hard to find the perfect spot for display. These items won't last long in this spot either....they will find other places in the house, and maybe I will just leave it empty for a while.
Silver Sunday comes but once a month, and the magpie seems to emerge in so many of us. This is a quick snapshot from Art Opera this week. I thought it was fitting for the day, but just the tiniest taste of the pictures that I took at the vendors fair. There is so much more that I want to say about it, and I will ...very soon.
First I have to say thank you to Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal for hosting Silver Sunday. Please go by and see what all the silver is about.
♥, Susan
What awesome silver pieces you have! So very unusual ~ that large punch bowl is a conversation starter, for sure! Please come look at my silver when you get a chance!

Susan, the punch bowl is a great piece of vintage aluminum. I can think of lots of wonderful ways to use this piece. Also like that steel table. You have some unusual pieces. Thank you for sharing these.

Wow! Statement pieces for sure. I think we all have a spot like that in our homes. We are never satisfied by what we display there. Mine is my front foyer - it changes constantly and my husband hates it. But it therapeutic for me - so change it will ~ Happy SS!

I just got a piece of hammered aluminum, but I do not see a marking. How do you know what it is? I will be posting this for next round of Silver Sunday. I love your pieces, thanks for sharing.
