Busy, busy weekend! For Met Monday at Susan's blog, Between Naps on the Porch, I was going to show you how we washed the windows in our house...and realized although it was a gigantic metamorphosis to us, you really didn't need to see the before and after shots of what the windows looked like...suffice to say, it was a big job and now we have sunlight streaming through again.
I also spent the weekend going through my linen closet, to choose which tablecloths will go into my new Etsy shop. Some needed ironing, so you can imagine how that went. It is a process to decide which I can and which I cannot live without.
Here is a mosaic of a few that will be in the shop this week. I tried to choose a variety of themes and patterns.
My sweet husband bought me the most beautiful cream colored roses, and I thought they would look nice with the dwarf lilacs that are just starting to open. Too irresistible for one vase,
I split the bouquet up into three arrangements,
and decorated the mantle with them.
You wouldn't believe how sweet those lilacs are. They have perfumed the whole house!
After the running around, and the gardening...and yes we have a plot in the community garden again this year...more on that in weeks to come....we were all a little tired and hungry.
I cooked up one of the easiest dishes. Roaster on sale this week, was cut up into pieces, breasts put away for another meal, and the chicken sautee'd in a little olive oil.
Peppers, garlic and onions added to the pan while the chicken waits to go back in, a little oregano, a little red wine to deglaze,
a jar of my all time favorite sauce,( I did say this was quick and easy...and I really do like the Silver Pallet basil sauce) and voila...
dinner quick and easy.
I added a little pasta to the menu, because dinner involved a hungry gardener and teenager and it tasted really good with the sauce. Now that we are all full, and finished with a weekends worth of chores we are happy campers.
Next week, I hope to show you a cleared out and cleaned up linen closet as well as pictures from the community garden.
This post is being linked to Smiling Sally's Blue Monday and Susan's, Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday. I have also been working on learning to use Picasa more, and experimenting with the mosaics, so I am linking to Little Red House for Mosaic Monday. Also, Etsy Cottage for Market Monday. Like I said...busy weekend..and busy Monday!
♥, Susan

Wow that dinner looks great. You were a busy lady and lordy. It rained all weekend in our neck of the woods. Had a virtual Derby Party instead of going to the track.
Love all those linens. Know what you mean about letting them go. Blessings

Thanks! For 3 days there was a problem and Etsy wasnt working for those of us in the north east. It was a bit of a lesson in patience and pain. There will be lots more added over the course of the week.
