and did I mention that all of this booty had me shelling out a mere $32.00...yup for everything...including the painting...yeah, I just love yard sales around here!
Now, for the festival part of the weekend, we attended what I believe is the first Guinness Oyster Festival in Red Bank. Here are some pictures from the parking lot on White Street at 12:00 in the afternoon.
The different vendors offered every kind of seafood imaginable, and there were dueling bands at either end of the festival...one playing The Devil went down to Red Bank...a new take on the Devil went down to Georgia...very entertaining!
There were some adorable kids running amok with their faces painted and some sporting newly sprayed on tattoos. There of course was a tent to get a pint of Guinness, and there was a tent selling wine and beer. My favorite part of the festival though, was when I bumped into two of the sweetest dogs. One being a New Foundland, and the other a Bernese Mountain Dog.
For those who weren't into the the bivalves and mollusks,
there was an entire pig roasting on a spit. The foodie in me wants so much to be excited by that...but, to be honest...it creeps me out a little bit.
I honestly think that this festival was one of the best opportunities for Red Bank to show us how foodie friendly it really is. The Guinness wasn't bad either!
This post is being linked to Mary's Little Red House for Mosaic Monday, Smiling Sally's for Blue Monday, and Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday...because finding that lithograph has transformed the wall in my living room. Now I just need to figure out who the handsome gentleman, wearing the turquoise blue shirt, and drinking his Guinness might be...I think I may have a crush on him (lol)!
♥, Susan
thanks for visiting me and liking the look of my pancake.
This is such a small blogging world. I'm meeting so many NJ people...you are from Red Bank, I am from Manasquan!
Too funny!

Wow, small town New Jersey has depth, and is way cooler than how it is represented on TV. Thanks Susan!

Hey Susan!
Bill and I were there too- at the festival, I mean. What a fun time! I even loved the fishy aromas eminating from the tents. We saw those very big dogs, but I am, however, very grateful that I did not see that poor pig. UGH! The bands were great, and I loved the kids and their painted faces too. Somehow, I missed the man in the turquoise shirt, though I do see him in your photo!
