For those who love to eat while they walk down the middle of what would normally be a very busy roadway, I bring you pictures from the street fair in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Even a drenching downpour could not keep people in their houses. There were battling radio stations at every street corner, and jewelery vendors galore. Every style church had a booth, and there were children mesmerized by the balloons and crowds, but most of all, there was food.
As we walk down the middle of the pink striped road (how much do you love that?), we feasted our eyes on
so many options
of foods that can only be found at special moments in time, like street or county fairs, that make some hearts go pitter-pat,
and others simply enjoy the aromas and the lovely walk through the center of town
to be tempted by less fattening things.
This post is being linked to A Southern Daydreamer for Outdoor Wednesday. This post is also dedicated to one very special daughter in the middle who knows fun food when she sees it!

Looks like a fun time! By the way, what is Kettle Korn? I've heard of it but have never had it.

Hi Kari, Kettle Korn is maybe a little like caramel corn...it is sweetened. My daughter loves the stuff...me, not so much. It is so nice to hear from you!

I am getting hungry just looking at the pictures. I could go for a funnel cake and lemonade right about now.

I love outdoor markets and street fairs. Part of the fun is watching other folks have fun. My favorite treat - elephant ears:-). I really enjoyed you post today. We use to take the kids to Jersey shore, so I'm familiar with your area. Have a great day. Blessings...Mary

Kettle Korn is popped in canola oil and heated with equal amounts salt and sugar. So a little bit salty, a little bit sweet, a whole lot of delicious. :-) Mike and I ate so much this summer, we may start growing corn silks!

What a fun post Susan! I did not get a chance to go to a street fair all summer for some reason ( heat humidity?) and I miss having to make a choice on what to eat. I usually end up with a gyro or sausage and peppers. What did you choose?

Hi Pat, I didnt actually have anything to eat because we had just finished brunch at our favorite restaurant. It was drizzly with punctuations of rain...perfect for me!

I always enjoyed the street fairs that were held in NYC when we lived there. Guess it doen't always have to be in Small Town America. Thanks for sharing this one.
