We live on a peninsula...almost surrounded by water. This is such a beautiful time around the Jersey Shore...it is quieter, peaceful and more serene.
This is my favorite time to visit the beach...these pictures were taken while we were waiting for the bridge to come back down and lock in place. Most of the bridges in this area have been replaced by modern, higher bridges that do not open and close to allow river traffic through. The need to accomodate traffic is understood, but the heart loves this Jersey Shore ritual.
On a different note, as I was putting out the candy for trick or treaters yesterday, I found this one...and only, Savannah blueberry dum dum pop.
Is this like finding a Willie Wonka golden ticket?? Just one of its kind? It must be very special...I am off to test out the Savannah Blueberry...yup, keeping it all for myself...wouldn't you?
This post is being linked to Smiling Sally's for Blue Monday, and Little Red House for Mosaic Monday.

Definitely a keeper!
Happy MM and Bluer Monday!

We spent the day by the water too - it was beautiful.
That pop?.....well, of course you should keep it for yourself!

Lovely shots of your peninsula. We used to live on the water and I sure miss it. You bet I'd keep the blueberry pop for myself. How was it? !!!

Places frequented by tourists are always a tad nicer just after the tourist season is over. :)

Those blues are so calming...wonderful room colors they'd make, too. You enjoy waiting for the bridge. I think that takes a special kind of patience.

Maybe you DID win a prize...I'd check!!
The water shots are wonderful...we still have a few bridges on Lake Erie around Cleveland that you need to wait for while they open & close for traffic. Nice time to pause & look about....and take pictures!! :D

Susan, this is so lovely. My great niece and her husband just moved to Hoboken, NJ. He had a job offer there. So far they love living there.
I would love that lollipop too. Smile.

Yes, those old bridges are good -- they make us slow down and look around... and really appreciate the world around us. :) Thanks for sharing at MM. :)
