It is snowing at the Jersey Shore....again. Being Mrs. Obvious, I have to say this is the snowiest winter in my memory!
Yes, it is beautiful and yes it is also a royal pain in the neck! So, that is what's going on outside.
More interesting, what is happening in the house? Well today, I am seeing green. Boy, that word ...green...it has so many meanings!! We try to be green,
as in being kind to the earth...recycling and composting. We try not to be green,
as in jealous. We want to have lots of green as in money! Of course green can also refer to how new something is or how little someone knows about something. Whoa, I think I was having a George Carlin moment! While making dinner last night, I was seeing green
and it was making me hungry. Contemplating how lucky we are to be able to eat fresh greens in the middle of the winter.
Enjoying fresh citrus complements of the imports from South America. Today is a good day to peruse the seed catalogs that have been finding their way to our mail box and make a plan for what will be growing in the garden in just a few months.
Visions of glorious big red juicy heirloom tomatoes are in my thoughts and the fact that it is only another month and a half (or so) till we can start planting the peas and looking for crocus. Mother Nature may be throwing us a snowball today, but look at all of her blessings that we have to look forward to!

All I can say your Green Bay folks are sure creating excitement and traffic here. I probably will not get out on the highways Super Bowl weekend.

This was a pretty "virtual rainbow" post, Susan! I'm looking forward to Spring and gardening again.
The snow is coming down quite heavy here..I already shoveled once and it's accumulating again. I keep trying to tell myself that it's a good upper body workout..lol!
Have a cozy day!

Now I know that we have to have a green salad for dinner. Don't know what else we might have but that is definite now. Yum!!
Very pretty post.

Being from Hunterdon County - NJ I can surely appreciate this post and of course your snow pictures... Nice pictures and story. I'd love to follow you, but how do I? I don't see a google follower button?

I would love all of this snow if I, say, lived in Summit County, CO, and didn't have to schlep to work. Living in NJ with a commute to NYC...not so much so. But I definitely appreciate your optimism! :-)
Thanks so much for your kind words about my Bittman post...it was the most fun I've had writing in a long while!! And I just love that man. p.s. I think you need to start a food blog with Bruce and call it "In the NJ Kitchen with Bruce...My Bruce Not the Other One" lol!!!

Spring really is just around the corner! I wish I had a really sunny spot to grow some veggies, but I have to deal with alot of shade in my yard. Still, I can't wait to plant some flowers!
Happy REDnesday!
