Happy Vernal Equinox (what a good scrabble word that is!) everyone! Spring is here...the long awaited arrival of warmer weather and longer, sunnier days is finally on it's way. I know this because Mother Nature has begun to redecorate the yards and areas outside our home.
The Crocuses and Japonica are in full bloom, and the Daffodils are ready to explode into a riot of sunshine yellow.
The front porch and backyard veggie garden have been decked out with hearty Pansies...a gift of 2 flats of brilliant Pansy purple bestowed on me by my husband...are now filling all of the pots that spent the winter in the garage.
The zinc flower pots that decorate the posts in the veggie garden are filled with pansies as well. Something new and exciting has shown up in the veggie garden this year...
Can you see them? Right next to the garden gate...yup, asparagus are growing...no one was more surprised than me...well, maybe my husband...but who would have thought? We planted a few very tiny, spindly plants last year and voila..they produced! It is down right magical!
While I was outside, I found the loveliest hawk staring down at me! It posed for pictures and then typical of timing flew off before my finger could grab the money shot of him gliding through the air. Well, blue skies and sunshine...we won't be taking any of it for granted...days like this are a gift.

We get hawks in our backyard, but we have so many trees it's hard to get pictures. Like you said, by the time the camera is ready, they are long gone. Your pictures are nice to look at though.Looks like you are getting ready for spring too.

That hawk is amazing and much better than a turkey vulture. Your pansies are so bright and cheerful and hardy enough for early spring weather I take it. Happy first full day of spring to you!

Pansies are one of my favorites. They are hard to find here in Florida but when we go up north for the winter I shall have them.
You are so lucky to have asparagus in your garden! Wonderful pictures.

Having joined Mosaic Monday this week I am now enjoying blog hopping around the world admiring everyone else's beautiful photography and gaining inspiration. It cheers me when so much of the world around us is in turmoil for one reason or another.
Your post is a lovely welcome to Spring
