In my previous post, I mentioned a quick trip to our local nursery/grocery store. I also mentioned how beautiful everything looked in the greenhouse, but I really saved the best for today.
Is this not the prettiest vignette ever? The statue, the flowering tree behind the statue and the pottery water feature surrounded by these little flowering plants...it spoke to me of Springtime.
As did these apricot colored begonias and the pretty orange pots...I am thinking of the possibilities for decorating the front porch.
The Buddha statue spoke to me (not literally), and I am thinking he may have to reside in our backyard veggie garden for the growing season.
On to the almost finished upstairs bedroom renovation. I have a few before and after photos to show you. Not the photos from in the beginning, when the room was painted macaroni and cheese yellow, but the "now we are in the tweaking stage" photos.
Here is the night stand that I found for the room. Keeping in mind that this reno was done on a non-budget (as in no money), it took me weeks to find what I was looking for.
The wicker tables "borrowed" from the screened in porch were returned to the porch this weekend. The new nightstand was a huge bargain because it was missing that little knob on the top. I'm not kidding...it was marked down to less than half price because the knob was missing. We bought it "as is" and went to the hardware store to purchase the knob for a cool three bucks... it is now perfect. You can also see the change in the bed linens. Our old quilt had a green tint to it which worked in the previous bedroom. The new set has a beige and taupe paisley print on a navy blue background. I think it has bit of French influence and I like the navy and pale gray blue together.
The last group of pictures show my new closet...tweaked! There are light as air, breezy white curtains on the window and the vanity table is now in place. Clothing is all hung up, shoes and purses are stowed away and I am ready for business.
Finding space for everything was not easy. There were decisions to be made that were a bit painful...like should I keep sweaters that are more than ten years old, knowing that I haven't worn them in years...much was sent off to the clothing recycle bin. My basket full of stuffed characters though, they are on the top shelf....for now.
Finishing up the husbands wall of closets as I am writing this...
He is putting installing leather looking tiles on the floor of the closets. Very masculine....don't you think??
This post is being linked to Little Red House for Mosaic Monday, Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday, and Smiling Sally for Blue Monday...with a nod toward the blues in this post...I am slowing trading in many of the standard blacks in my wardrobe for blues...shoes, jeans, and tops...I am just liking the blues better. I am also linking to Boggieboard Cottage for Masterpiece Monday.

Hi Susan, A very lovely spring vignette for a lovely mosaic. I love the flowers and the statue. Love the orange flower pots and flowers, and the ducks are adorable. Susan I love how you revamped the night stand. It's gorgeous, and the closet is fabulous. I love how you have a window with pretty white curtains. Great vanity table too. Great job. Wish my closet was that organized!
Have great week.

Your talent just never ceases to amaze me, Susan. I am so clumsy when it comes to such things. I may need to ask you for a few hints after I get my new sun room done.
Thank you so much for sharing, simply lovely:)
