The weather at the Jersey Shore is all the talk! As a rule, when I run into someone who insists on mentioning the weather I think that we have very little to say to one another, however, the seasons have changed in both timing and nature and to me, this is extraordinary. In any other year, you would not see this post until the end of April at least, but here it is mid-March and things are blooming quite early.
A CHILD IN A MEXICAN GARDEN by Grace Conkling
My garden-ground is very green,
With little streaks of light between,
And walls all made of white and red
Hold up the sky above my head.
I think sometimes that walls so high
Will never let the clouds go by;
But always, somehow and at last,
Over they slide and travel past.
In years past, this would be the week we plant our peas, hoping that the ground will be soft enough. The ground is plenty soft and our asparagus have made an early and very exciting appearance.
With Spring upon us, it is a new year in the gardens with new/old (heirloom) seeds to plant. I am hoping for a calm and tranquil season...so, how about this weather? Hope it is good in your neck of the garden.
Linking this post to A Haven for Vee for her notecard party...I think these pictures would make beautiful note cards.

Oh a mosaic note card would be nice, too, Susan. Yes. I'd not thought of that. I really like the daffodils. So quintessentially spring!

I love the photos of your asparagus poking through the soil, Susan, as well as your daffodils and Spring flowers. I think nature gave us a wonderful gift this year of a mild winter and early Spring. We deserve it after last year's record breaking snow. :)
